this piece is an homage to MOSS's younger self. the older, original "Surf & Turf" drawing was created while they were still in high school, and after about ten years, it has been brought back to life through new eyes. a gift from the past made into an offering from the future.

image description: we have two figures, inspired by Gaia and Oceanus, joined together by a simple knotted rope.

Gaia is meant to embody the soul of the Earth itself. In her legends, she is the original, the first, the foundational deity that sprang forth from the Chaos. from her very existence, all else is allowed to be. here, her head is crowned on one side by sprawling tree branches and on the other, by a ram's horn. she wears her hair in dreads, some decorated with beads that have symbols for land, fire, and air carved into them. the bark of a tree covers her neck, where a cluster of mushrooms grows. a large cliff face rises from her shoulder beneath the rams horn. her chin is held high, and her expression is neutral but determined.

she is joined by Oceanus, the spirit of the Sea. where he is dark and mysterious, he is also teeming with life. long dark hair flows around a serene face, tentacles peeking through on one side. his shoulders are decorated with anemones and coral, while a little starfish and barnacles cling to his neck. 

looping science and evolution into the design, consider that life began in our seas before ever making its way to land. so here we have a cycle, a sort of union, an echo of the other in each other, a reliance, a partnership. 

t-shirt specs: Tultex 202 (100% ring-spun cotton), two-sided print. Divine Timing "Land & Sea" badge printed on the left chest, Gaia and Oceanus printed on the back.
